When our frequent collaborators at Flatiron approached us with a new animation project, we knew we wanted to take on the challenge of marrying clinical and data science with beautiful and informative visuals.
The biggest challenge whenever taking on a project with Flatiron, is being able to translate the intricate and technical details of what integrated evidence is into something simple, beautiful and easy to understand. The user needs to understand what the story being told is, and our visuals and motion can help facilitate that. And as always, we start on paper.
This project in particular was based on science, data and technology, and for us, we wanted to make sure the design language for this animation was less clinical, and more human. Although we're dealing with big terms and complex ideas, we still wanted to bring warmth and beauty to something we don't necessarily expect. We searched far and wide for inspiration and researched different techniques that can bring this concept to life.
We were honored to work with such a great team at Flatiron. They marry clinical and data science to improve outcomes for cancer patients today and tomorrow. With the final product of all our collaborated efforts, we wanted to give the right information, explain how we can make a difference, and encourage those who can make the change.
